PC shuts down during gaming

So a week ago I built my first PC, and I had my fair share of problems at first but all have seemed to be sorted out but a select few. The main concerning thing I've come across is that sometimes while playing games my PC will shut down completely, as in nothing displaying, no lights no fans, it's similar to the plug being pulled out of it. I've done some research and discovered its most likely either a power or heat issue, but the only problem is my GPU idles at 60-70 Celsius. during gaming, and my CPU idles at 30-40 celsius, which from what I've gathered are healthy temps under load. I cannot for the life of me figure out what is causing this as my power supply should be fine supporting my components. Along with this problem is that more often than not the PC freezes on the BIOS splash screen, requiring a manual restart, at which point it will usually boot into windows correctly. Also any attempt to enter the BIOS will result in the BIOS itself freezing within 10 seconds of use. If anybody has any idea please help, thanks.

Parts list:
GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080Ti 11G
PSU: EVGA 750W 80+ gold
CPU: Intel i7-7700K
Mobo: asus Maximus IX Code
RAM: G.skill Ripjaw V series (2x8GB sticks)
OS: windows 10 Home
Corsair m.2 SSD 240GB (OS stored here)

Solution
It sounds to me like the PSU might be defective. Yes, it is big enough and good quality, but it could still be defective. Unfortunately, you won't know for sure w/o trying a different one. If the PSU is still refundable or replaceable, I would try that first.

You might check to see if the 24-pin cable is securely plugged into the header. Be sure the latching clip on the connector is fully over the lip on the header. Same goes for the CPU power cable/header.

Unfortunately, it could be the motherboard as well. Or a defective card or other component that causes it. But w/o testing, it is hard to say. You might try disassembling the PC... breadboard the parts outside the case on an insulated surface. With just the components needed to put the PC thru its paces. See if it happens then too. While the board is out of the case, check that you didn't inadvertently add a standoff that wasn't needed. It could be shorting the back of the board out, and only happening when loads get heavy.
