I'm not that knowledgeable on the subject so bear with me.

I'm trying to set a up a static IP address with the purpose that servers will see a different IP address then I had before.

The problem I'm having is after setting up an acceptable combination of IP, default gateway, and subnet mask values, I can't connect to the Ethernet and windows says the problem is "DHCP is not enabled for Ethernet."

On forums I found answerers asking for this info:
IPv4: 192.168.0.103(preferred)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DHCP Enables: Yes
DHCP Server: 192.168.0.1

The value I was putting for static IP was simply changing at the end 103 to 102.

Solution
Try using the router to reserve an IP Address (It should be within the LAN section of the interface). That worked for me.

Edit: It's called DHCP Reservation .~.
