Will not using RAM slots A1, and A2 compromise memory speed?

Hi guys and girls,

As the title says, my trusty old MOBO has a fault with RAM slots A1 and A2, so i am using B1,B2, C1,C2 & D1, D2. 16GB in total.
I have tried everything to get these slots working, all bar re-seating the CPU.
Am i compromising the speed of my RAM by not using the first two slots??

I will run CPU-Z later and see what that reports, but i had a niggling doubt that my RAM is working to its correct potential, as some games stutter at first but otherwise seem to run fine...

Cheers for any interest and insight as ever!
K.

there are no slots such as D1/2 C1/2, its A1 A2 B1 B2. to run in dual channel mode you install the DIMMS in either A1 B1 or A2 B2 configuration. there shouldn't be any loss of speed or limitations in Dual channel mode. but what you have done here is use only 1 channel that is the A channel so dont expect dual channel performance here. but again, the performance difference shouldn't be really noticeable.

Ok, i did make a mistake, there is no D channel - monday morning and still yawning! But i do have 6 slots A, B & C. I have 4 slots being used, B (1&2) C (1&2)
I think to be honnest, it is running as well as could be expected, and the end result i suppose is to upgrade my rig - from scratch. But i have had this rig for nearly 10 years now, and i will wait for it to die before i spend loads on a new setup.

Many thanks for the reply man.
Regards.
