Does Low HDD Storage affect gaming performance ?

so basically i have 1TB HDD that i set 777GB on Disk D. the problem is that i have used about 600GB on games and it appears my gaming performance is so low such as GTA V and even crashed in few games. i checked the bios setting because i changed my mobo few weeks ago and see if anything wrong, but its perfectly fine. im asking does low storage really kills game performance ?? i used about 200gb before and it runs pretty well

i5-3470
GTX 1060
8 GB Ram

I don't really think HDD storage affects gaming unless it's filled up. Then again, I'm not even close to being an expert on these types of things lol.
GTAV commonly passes 8GB ram, I was told once. Maybe that's why you're getting frame drops/stutter?
Now, I have no idea why your other games are crashing. I'm just answering to see if I could help a bit here.

yeah, my previous mobo got striked by lightning last week, but i found exactly same one but with different bios.
drive fragment in 0% on all except system reserved which is 100%
