Sapphire Radeon rx 580 fps cap problem?!

Hello I've just purchased a sapphire Radeon rx 580 4gb and a AOC agon 144hz 1080p monitor and I've plugged it in to 3 different monitors to try and resolve this issue, 1 every game was capped at 30fps (1080p TV) 2 every game is capped to 144fps (AOC agon monitor) 3 (60hz 1080p monitor) please help AMD settings don't change a this.

Sounds like Vsync is enabled.

Crimson software>Gaming>Global Settings>Wait for Vertical Refresh, disable.

It could be enabled in the games themselves also.

Yeah but games like skyrim it's running up 144fps it's not meant to be able to go over 60 unless you edit ini files? Any suggestions??

Thats probably because your monitor has a higher refresh rate.

Unless Vsync is causing you an issue, it's best to leave it on. I know, you want to see huge fps and be proud of your new graphics card, but you're not actually gaining anything, except making the card run hotter.

Because the rx 580 can't run skyrim stable at 144fps how's it going to run games like far cry primal and fallout 4? So sorry if I sound like a dick head but if the monitor is 144hz the fps cap on certain games is going to be 144 I don't know much about monitors

Skyrim is a bit special with stuff going wrong above 60fps. The vast majority of games will run beyond 100-300fps no problem.

Your monitor and graphics card supports freesync, so I would recommend using that also.

You need to use a Displayport cable, then follow this:

Freesync synchronizes the FPS with the refresh rate of the monitor, so its as smooth as possible. Where as vsync just forces your FPS to be stuck to the refresh rate of the monitor, freesync matches the two together.
