How high should I OC my card?

I have a gigabyte gtx 1080 ti gaming OC card and I want to overclock memory clock, core clock, and power limit. I am new to this stuff and any help is appreciated

In my past I would say that you can OC your card as high as you want until you notice screen chops. I saw a video on how to OC your card where the guy describes the chops as like missing pieces in the image. You will know when you OC to high. Keep lowering the OC until you find the point where it doesn't do so, and keep it there or lower it if you want.

So basically just slowly go up until the picture looks choppy? And what about the gpu temps?
