My Friend bet me 100$ Cash that i couldn't get a windows 98 program working on his windows 10 laptop because I've done that kind of stuff before. he handed me a floppy disk and said take as long as you need, and i decided to get started. i then realized that my only computer that had a floppy drive was my old Sony Vaio PCG-F250, and i cant get any files off of it in any way shape or form. Help! I really don't want to be out 100$, because I'm saving for a new computer for seriously hard to run stuff

1. Is this program 32-bit or is it a 16/32-bit hybrid as a great many of that era were?
2. Windows 10 32-bit or 64-bit?
3. USB floppy drives are readily available.
4. Sounds like you bit off a little more than you can chew here.

windows 10 64 bit, no floppy disc, was a 16 bit only program. I have gotten 8 bit programs to work, i just need the files and it will work.
would it help if i mentioned that the program is bagpipe music writer gold?

What would I do?

Crank up one of my old laptops with a floppy drive
Copy that "program" off to a USB, or possibly over the LAN
On my Win 10 Pro machine, generate a VirtualBox VM of Win 98
Copy this "program" off the USB into that VM
Run it
Collect my $100

What I would actually do?
Not take the bet, and say "you do it. I have far better things to waste my time on."

And just exactly how did you get 8-bit programs to work in any 64-bit version of Windows?

Same for 16-bit programs.

im also noting that mentioning that the program was bagpipe music writer gold just got people telling me that i should get a different program, but that is cheating as he specifically asked, "can you get this program working on my computer? i can, if i can get it to my windows 10 machine.

Unfortunately, it doesn't accept USB 2.0 and I don't own any 1.0. The laptop is to old to take 2.0

USB is designed to be backward compatible. A 2.0 device will function in a 1.0 port.

don't bother wqith old hardware use current hardware..usb floppy drive at Walmart

read disk, run program 16bit will run on windows 10, right click setting, run as "windows xp" and administrator and be done with silly dare.
