I think I have packet loss and my ping commands are timing out.

For a while now, whenever I play Battlefield 1 on my PC, I start lagging and eventually lag out of the game. The in-game network diagnostics say that there is a lot of packet loss so I decided to test for packet loss in command prompt.

All of my ping commands return with "request timed out." unless I ping to something else on my network. I am still able to connect to all of the websites that I ping in a web browser. Using the linksys in-browser ping test on a wireless device or a laptop plug in using an Ethernet cable, I get a return just fine. So I have concluded that I am only having issues with wireless devices on my network (I tried testing on a different wireless computer as well and it still failed).

Is there something that I need to change in my routers setting? I have a nice linksys AC1200 router that I only recently bought so I don't think the solution is to buy a new router.

Thanks in advance.

Try tracert at the command prompt to narrow down where the delays may be occuring. Remember that some devices/servers may not respond to pings.

As for or within your own network:

Take a very close look at the wireless adapter configuration on your PC. And eventually the other wireless devices as well.

It may well be that their respective wireless network adapters are not playing well with the new Linksys AC1200.

Log into the router's admin pages and review all of the settings. Do not change anything - just get the information for reference purposes. Read the User Manual/Guide to familarize yourself with all of the settings and options.

First, make sure that the network adapter drivers are up to date on your PC and if not...

First, make sure that the network adapter drivers are up to date on your PC and if not download the applicable driver from the manufactuer's website. Reinstall and configure for your network.

Then begin changing some settings on the wireless adapter. Change only one thing at a time and keep notes. You may need to undo some configuration change.

Change any "auto" or "auto negotiate" settings to manually match the router. Or if manual - then try auto.

If you do not have IPv6 service via your ISP - uncheck IPv6 on the network adapter.

Work first with just your PC and see what you can do to improve things. Watch for errors or warnings.

Hopefully the PC's wireless performance will improve. Use that experience and information to re-configure the other wireless devices.

I tried using traceroute and this is all I got. http://imgur.com/fyWoZRB I don't understand how to interpret this but I'm assuming it means it can't connect.

EDIT: Actually I disabled IPv6 and now I ping fine. Thank you very much.
