As MoBo supports Crossfire I am choosing between

R9 280x 3Gb and GTX950 2Gb (same price)

Games: Arma III, Total War Rome II and Attila

Stereoscopic 3D video playback is the must

What's your budget?
There are many better options if you're buying new.

Budget is pretty limited. I can get any of mentioned GPUs for the modest price. There is also second hand ASUS Radeon R9 390 8GB STRIX for the same price, but I feel something wrong with it as usually 390x is 1.5 times more expensive

How good any of these are for Arma 3 with the given rig?

390 is exceeding the budget. 380 is ok. Going for it. Hope it will be better than 960 2Gb for Arma 3

Nope, optimization won't be there at all, get the 380X, it's only 5% faster in terms of raw performance and sucks heaps more power.

Microstutter shouldn't be a big thing unless you're SLIing.

Picture has more saturated colors and edges are sharper. Just like HDR.

Total wars are ideal at Extreme

Microstutters occure at Arma 3 only.

That's pretty common in Arma, spikes can be pretty intense in terms of FPS.
Turn down AA or shadows/lighting, those features take way more GPU power than necessary generally.

No, it isn't.
