I installed 2 4gb ddr3 1333 mhz sodimm chips in my inspiron 15 n5030..are working great except my dram frequency still shows 399mhz....shouldn't it be higher than that? and if so how do I change it?

Solution
Access your BIOS by shutting down/restarting the PC, repeatedly pressing the BIOS button repeatedly (probably F11 or F12. it's best to google it and find your specific laptop's BIOS button) and locating your RAM settings. There you should be able to set a frequency, or XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) to cap out the RAM to its full 1333MHz.
