The NETGEAR C6300 AC1750 looked like a great replacement for my Comcast rental ARRIS TG1682G, but its missing QoS. Any ideas of something close that offers QoS ? Im upgrading to Comcast TV & Internet 200down - 10Up. Still not sure though if combo is the way to go. Thank you for some help/advice

Solution
You want seperate devices.

Combo devices generally dont have the same level of features, combo devices means if one part dies you need to replace it all, combo devices means if you want to upgrade one aspect you have to upgrade it al.
Thus overall combo device is a poor investment.

For 200down you could get away with a an 8x4 channel modem but it will be running near max so a 16x4 would be much better peformance wise. Even more so if doing something that can ACTUALLY use all 200mbps at once.

I have an ASUS RT-AC68P and it has been the best router I have ever owned, even better loading ASUS Merlin on it (very easy to do).
(FYI THE AC68P, 68R, 68W and 68U are all pretty much the same thing, the P only has slighlty faster CPU).
I have an ASUS RT-AC56u and it has QoS. I have a Cox gateway with 300mbps, and I constantly get ~360mbps wired, and 200mbps on wireless. Combo isn't always the best, because you may usually lose control of your network. What other features are you looking for?

Dual Band at least.. ideally at least 16 x 4 Channel bonding... the QoS.. maybe logging of traffic per user
Im still looking into what combo unit will be best - OR - if I need to go with a separate Modem and Router
..to drop the rental fee

So you just use your Cox provided Gateway and then router off the ASUS.. but do you pay the rental fee on the COX ?

Unfortunately yes. This is because I did not want to get a DOCSIS 3.0 modem and not get my speeds. At least I know I am getting my speeds. Those ASUS routers should get you what you are looking for. I also log each device for their traffic as well. Not to mention, there is an ASUS app you can use. You can also block certain devices right from the app.

Ah forgot ASUS Merlin. Yes I have that too. It is worth it. I'm happy with my speeds, and allows me to have 2.4ghz and 5ghz connection. It even allows Guest so I don't have to hand out my password for visitors. If you are looking for a router, go the Asus router...

That's just my three cents.
