Hello everybody reading this thread,

It's been a while now since my computer started having some major issues. I've looked for solutions for this issue on many, many sites even on this one. I've found some possible solutions but in my case they all did not work. So desperatly as I am, I'm gonna try one last time making my own thread. Hopefully a working solution will come out, if not some wise opinions on the topic which I can do otherwise would be welcome to.

So the issue I'm talking about is as you can read in the title, that my computer hardfreezes when playing specific games, which I really like to play so stop playing them is not an option... Sometimes the freezes occur after playing only 5 minutes, sometimes after a quarter, so there isn't a specific time how long in game it takes to freeze the system. The only resolve for those hardfreezes is to hard reboot the whole system. Game in which it happened before are: Counter Strike Source, Battlefield 4, Golf With Friends, World Of Warcraft,... It seems like it didn't occur on Fallout 4, Diablo 3,... So strange as it is no real clue why it happens.

I don't know if it's a software issue or a hardware one. I'm running windows 10 obviously on the following system:
Cpu: Amd fx-9590 black edition
Gpu: Msi R9 390x 8 gb
Psu: Corsair 750tx
Motherboard: Sabertooth 990Fx R2.0
Cooling: Corsair H100i Hydro series
These are the major parts, if you guys need to know the hdd or the ram, let me know.

Here are also somethings I already tried. I've checked the dump and registery files but cound't find any regarding the crash/freezes, I don't know if I checked right so tips are welcome. Second thing I tried was disabling the power save cores c4 en c6, but this didn't work as well. I've tried reinstalling windows but didn't work. I've checked for driver updates, but even with everything updated it still happened. I've checked for virusses and so but couldn't find any. I also checked temperatues but unfortunately nothing specific leading to the freezes. That's I think most I tried.

If you guys still need extra info, like example temparatues of cpu/gpu, I'm willing to give as long as it will get the freezes to stop.

Thanks in advance!

So, I did like you recommended. Installed MSI afterburner and putted the temps of the cpu and gpu, and the ram in the gameoverlay so I could keep an eye on them. I've managed to play a whole game of bf4 but in the second one the pc hardfroze again.
The temps at which it happened were:
Gpu: 78 degrees (I can mention that I've seen temps of 88 when playing, so seems strange that it froze at 78)
Cpu: 71 degrees
Ram: 5989 MB (I've got 8 MB in my pc)

I can't get any clue from this regarding the freezes, maybe you guys do?

Thanks already and future help!!

I had similar problem awhile back. I installed BF4, played a few games, then I got some directx error message. it came now and then. Then started to freeze BF4. And later every other game I played.. The problem was corrupt Directx files that came with BF4.
2 times I reinstalled clean windows 7 and had to do it 1 time more, cuz I clicked on "yes" on update directx while innstalling bf4.
Last time I innstalled bf4, I only updated from MS website on directx. Then all games was fine..

I even run test on diagnostic tool for directx. All passed.

you should reinstall windows, install a gamethat have been frozen before and check..
