Hi all! Ok, so I have a problem I seem to be the only one to have, as I can't find anyone reporting anything similar for this board, no matter where I look.

Built my first PC acouple days ago, nervous as <removed>. Connected everything up, powered it on and, hey presto! It worked. Installed Windows and got to configuring everything to my tastes. Aside from some problems installing the sound card (Took awhile to register and function correctly), everything was a great success!! ...Until it came to getting into Bios.

Whilst I was having problems with the sound card, I figured I could go into Bios, fiddle around with some of the PCI settings, and get it to work that way. That problem has since sorted itself out, so the soundcard is fine. Getting into the Bios was more of a problem, as my keyboard (and mouse) is usb, and so wouldn't fully register until the computer was already booting into Windows, and I didn't have one with a ps2 connection to hand (should have kept my old one). I eventually figured out how to get into it (used 'hold shift + click restart)... however... when I tried to navigate the Bios (and everytime since), it completely froze. Locks up soon as I click on anything. Neither the mouse nor the keyboared will function even after leaving it for quite some time, and I hafta do a hard reset, upon which I go back to Windows, and can operate the PC with no problems.

My reason for wanting to get into Bios is to update it. I don't relish the task as I've never done it before, don't have the money to replace the board if I brick it, and really cant be waitin up to a month for RMA. At the moment, my system seems to be stable as is. But... along with the other benefits of updating Bios I do want to clock my ram higher than the 2133 it's forced to run at now (which is the only kind of overclocking I will attempt to do with this machine). And, I need to know why the Bios is freezing in the first place and if I can fix it, as it could be a sign of an underlying problem that could <removed> up my PC at some point, and I REALLY can't afford for that to happen. For now, I'm relegated to the original E7A34AMI.100 bios version that came with the board.

Any advice insight or solutions, indeed any help atall will be very much appreciated :)

Goto the bios, load bios defaults, save and exit, if it freezes before you can do that then clear the cmos using the jumper pins in the board, next flash the bios, I always do one at a time to save any issues, some people just jump straight to the latest, do not flash the bios with any custom settings in the bios.
