I've spent literally the last 5 hours trying to figure this problem out and it's actually blowing my mind to new levels as to how ridiculous this is and I'm by no mean a PC amateur these days
I don't have a cd rom drive so I'm using "Full Driver & Software Package" from here

The installation gives you 3 options here :

but none of them work for these reasons :
- Local Connection USB just gives me a stupid prompt screen like this

and the next button will never popup ever.. even after fiddling around with everything. I know A) the cable works as it just come off my old working printer and B) the printer auto installs basic windows drivers for detection..
- Wired Network connection also doesn't work I tried manually using my IP to connect and the other 2 options to locate the printer but failed both times the software actually installs and I can open up the scanner suite etc but the scanner is in permanent offline mode and won't scan anything when I click the button just gives me a similar error to the local connection second error message on the right
- Wireless network connection this is the part that frustrates me the most.. if I try to use this option it just tells me it can't find a printer on the network??!?! I have the printer literally connected to the internet in it's own settings and it printer off a test page for me confirming connection via WPS Pin and I even tried SSID connection which also worked
I've searched online and found 1-2 similar issues with no results just a spam of google search results of brother trouble shooting methods which are absolutely fucking useless
now get your tin foil hats out because as I said earlier the basic window drivers installed so that means A) I can print from windows photo gallery and Microsoft word with the cable connection B) I can also scan through the windows default scan option in devices/printers menu in control panel but that's useless to me as the quality is damn awful and I even had to play around with that a little to even get the scan to go through
So the main issue I'm having is A) Installing the software to get the correct utilities connected to my pc so that B) I can use there scan software like I'm supposed to be able to do
so I'm probably not going to get a reply but if anyone could help me that would be fantastic.. this is killing me rn
