Hi guys! I heard that the gpu requires 6 pin connector so, I am planning to upgrade my psu as well can you guys recommend me a good psu?

My specs rn:
PSU: Chicony 300w psu
Mobo: Acer veriton s680g( just checked it with cpu-id)
Procie: i5-650 3.20GHz
RAM: 1 4gb kingston ddr3 and 1 2gb don't know the brand ddr3
Video card: terrible nvidia gt 610 2gb ddr3 got it from my old pc

Just want to play games at ultra settings with my current build, had to upgrade the video card to gtx 1050 ti, thanks guys

You can find 1050 Tis that do not require a 6 pin connector, so in theory you would not need a new power supply. I say 'in theory' because there are two issues that might affect this. One, if that 300W PSU is one of those really cheap ones(and it sounds like it), then it probably has some low 12A type output on the 12V rail. I would not try to power a 1050 Ti on that. Two, your motherboard is old enough that a new Nvidia card might not be compatible. These cards can require a UEFI bios sometimes, which you won't have.

Whether you can play any game at ultra settings, I presume you would like to do this at 1080p, and at least 45fps or so, depends on more than the videocard. You have an older, dual core CPU w/hyperthreading. Some games...

Whether you can play any game at ultra settings, I presume you would like to do this at 1080p, and at least 45fps or so, depends on more than the videocard. You have an older, dual core CPU w/hyperthreading. Some games, like Battlefield 1, will not run well no matter what card you get. Some games, like CSGO or Overwatch, should do pretty good with a decent card. I would get an RX 460 2gb if I was in your position. It should work with your current power supply and it should have the best chance at being compatible with your motherboard.

It won't play demanding games at ultra settings and 1080p, due to only having 2gb vram, but no game that I know of that requires a more powerful card is going to run well under those conditions with that CPU anyways so it's kind of a moot point.
