try a little bit of overclocking since as i know, the DDR3 HyperX Fury 1600 mhz can auto-overclock to 1866mhz.

I first booted my pc with the new z97 board and 2 sticks of hyperx fury ram, and i was kind of dissapointed when i looked up into the task manager and CPU-Z and saw that my memory speeds were running at 1600mhz. So i entered the BIOS and as i saw that XMP was not being possible to enable, i changed the System MEmory Multiplier from 1600 to 1866 and restarted the PC and BOOM.

CPU-Z and Task manager showed up 1866 MHZ... i felt a little bit curious because i had all the possible way to over clock in the Bios so i went back to the BIOS and typed 2000 and restarted the PC.

What a surprise was that CPU-Z was actually showing those 2000MHZ and so does task manager, i worried a little bit because i think that is not normal, so i reset my bios to default and now im running at 1600MHZ.

How is this even possible?
Am i running a risk of doing this?
Should i do it, is it worth?
Lifetime of hardware reduces for doing this?

I need some help please.

Heres an ScreenShot when i first set it to 2000MHZ and 1866.

Solution
You must set some factors right for a successful overclock of ram. That is voltage and ram timings. The fact that your pc had a post doesnot mean that it is stable. You must run a full memtest86 process to claim you are stable. If the overclock is not stable you will experience reboots, crashes, freezes etc. Search for other instances of overclocking this ram and try those settings
P.S.: Why double posting?

Sorry, because i did not know wich was the correct one.

So am i able to over clock it as much as i want? Is it worth? Can i ruin my motherboard?

Not as much as you want and you are not going to see real life difference between 1866 and 2133 for example. For your ram i say do not get past 1866. You are not going to ruin anything except for you start tweaking with high voltages. Then you may fry the memory chips. Set it to 1866 and leave everything in auto for voltages and ram timings. Run a full memtest86 and if you are stable you are good to go.
Otherwise these settings may help: Voltage 1.6-1.63
Timings: CL - 11
tRCD - 11
tRP - 11
tRAS - 36
All others leave them auto

Hi again, im really noob in this topic because i never had before a motherboard that allowed more than 1600mhz, so im sorry if my questions are kind of silly.

I booted up the system with memtest86 at stock speeds (memory) and took like 50 minutes to show up that there was no error found.

After i was sure that my memory sticks were running fine, I entered the bios and set the System Memory Multiplier up to 18.66 so my Memory frequency went up to 1866MHZ instead of 1600MHZ, i checked up on cpu-z and task manager that actually was running on that speed, and installed memtest86 on a usb and booted it up.

Took like 55 minutes until it says PASS COMPLETE NO ERRORS (0 ERRORS).

Am i good running it at this speed? I didnt change nothing else, like voltages or timings, just the memory frequency.
I repeat, i just want to make sure that theres no way that i can damage this brand new motherboard or gpu.

Thank you so much.

If you passed through a successful memtest then yes you are good to go. Do not be afraid, as i said the only thing you can damage is your ram IF you start setting some crazy voltages. Stick with the 1866 and you 'll be fine
