Hi Folks i am looking to replace my Cooler Master HAF 932 full tower case due to some reasons which i will mention below and i am looking for suggestions for best case which satisfy my following needs:
1. Must be a full tower, not looking for super tower or smaller cases.
2. Must support atleast 8 drives out of the box without having to use any conversion cards. This is the top most reason i am replacing my case, it has only 5 drive bays for 3.5" drives and none for 2.5" at all, i currently have 7 drives installed in my pc, 6 HDD's (mechanical) & 1 SSD and i am using caddies for 2 drives. The case i am looking for must have support for installing 7 3.5" hdd drives & 1 2.5" ssd drive. More are better. Any case failing this requirement is automatically out of consideration for me.
3. This one's no brainer but hey my current 10 yro case doesn't have this so worth mentioning, it must have usb 3.0 ports in front IO panel. Doesn't matter how many as long as it has 1 usb 3.0 port then i am good.
4. Aesthetics have absolutely 0 priority for me so cases which uses lots of glass for eye candy isn't appreciated. I want a case which has best possible air flow and lots of pre-installed fans. A big fan on left side instead of glass would definitely get a priority.
5. In my 20 years of working with pc's i have never ever installed hydro cooler in any of my pc and i never will so cases which are designed specifically for water cooling are not needed. More space for fans or more space in general for cable routing is preferred.
6. Finally, i have a fairly good budget for this case but it shouldn't be super expensive. $250 or less is fine, over $300 is not. On the other hand i am also not looking to buy anything super cheap with low build quality.
I really liked this case thermaltake Urban T81, it fit my needs perfectly but it has that stupid glass side panel instead of huge 220mm fan or something, if it had fan i would have simply ordered it instead of posting this huge topic. I wonder why on earth companies prefer putting huge glass on side panels instead of good airflow options, i am finding lot of it. I prefer watching my beautiful girlfriend then looking fancy led lights coming out from my casing......
