Pretty much what title says.
Tried disabling and enabling the microphone through the recording devices thingy. Noise suppression and echo cancellation are on. This worked at first but now the noise is back again.
Tried reinstalling the realtek hd audio drivers but no luck with that.
I am using a Natec Genesis H44 if that is of any help.

Just going by the fact that you said it happened with your old mic, I'd say that yeah, something's gone wrong on your motherboard. Your options are probably either to replace the motherboard or get a cheap sound card to replace the built-in ports on your motherboard.

If you go the sound card route, I recommend the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy FX card. It's cheap, doesn't take too much power, and will bypass the motherboard's sound system which seems to be having some kind of fault.
