Hey community I am having issues with my build, I recently purchased extra fans for my computer (LED FANS) so I was able to install no problem, but once i put the SW Reset cable on the 6 pin board that came with the fan the something started to smoke from that board not my MOBO, i immediately flipped the power supply switch to turn it off and was freaked so I unplugged the cable from the fan board. Tried booting and now I do not get any type of beeps (the speaker is connected properly to the board) my specs are :

MOBO: ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
CPU : AMD FX-6300 6-Core Processor Black Edition
CPU Cooler : Stock one that came with it
RAM: Corsair Vengeance ‑ DIMM 240‑pin x2 (4gb each)
PSU: Thermaltake SMART Series SP-650PCBUS 650W ATX 12V 2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
Video Card: MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr Edition
HDD: 2 x Seagate 1 TBs

I have tried bare bone booting the PC to see if I get a beep codes and nothing just a solid CPU_LED light everything powers on even the new fans the video card fans and the psu fans and cpu. It seems like everything works fine but does not beep or post. I cannot see bios or anything. I am at my wits end :( I have tried almost everything even doing the jumpers on the board. If there is anything else you guys need from me to find the answer to this. Please don't hesitate to ask! I will try my best to come back to this thread frequently.

The smoke from whatever you connected indicates a short circuit that may have damaged other electronic components.

Although memory that is purchased as single memory modules and is then combined carries no guarantee for compatibility, that doesn't seem to be your problem.

I mean everything I've ever installed on my pc has worked with no problems. Just these fans fucked me over. Could it be my power supply I've reseated CPU with new paste. I've reset the cmo battery also idk if it is my power supply that went bad or what. Even though the psu fan is still going
