Upgrading PC Build -- Looking for Recommendations

Last year I built a gaming PC that fit my budget and am now looking to upgrade some things to maximize its performance and "future proof" my setup a bit more.

Current build (can't remember RAM brand, but it's 2x8 16gb).

I am thinking I will wait until the next generation of video cards before upgrading the 1060, but since I am still very green to building PC's I'm looking for help in direction of what to upgrade beyond that.

I believe I made a mistake in the motherboard I purchased, so that seems like a good place to start? Even though it will require more work, that's ok. Would upgrading to 32gb RAM be helpful, or is that just unnecessary? Another SSD?

Sorry if this is pretty basic stuff. Any help would be appreciated!

For now, I don't see anything that requires upgrade. Not for a least half a year. And not going to guess today what may be good then.

with the ram 8gb used to be pleanty for most people but these days 16GB is a good max to have but 32gb would be a waste of money. I would think anouther ssd if you want.

16gb is enough for any game right now, whats ur cpu, mobo and stuff?

i dont see anything wrong with it now...32 gb is a waste for gaming unless you're doing productivity work ie; graphics, sound production.

I was very curious about the motherboard. I had a couple friends go with me to the store to pick up my components and it wasn't until we got home and unboxed it that I realized it was quite small, like it was built for a smaller, compact case. Does that have any effect on performance or ability to upgrade/expand? Or is it just just something that's going to not be perfect aesthetically?

Replacing the Mobo seems nerve wracking to me, since this was my first hands-on build. If I did replace it I'd probably pay to have it done. I wouldn't mind building again from scratch, but removing and reinstalling things like the CPU would put me on edge.

Thanks, that's a bit of reassurance. I think I just got jealous of some people posting their screens of Player Unknown's Battlegrounds on Ultra settings, so I got a little unnecessarily anxious. The game's not optimized yet, so it's not the greatest measuring stick, either.

is that your board? and moving ur cpu to another mobo isnt that hard, if thought i t was scary at first but it really isnt that bad

i cant see any limitations tho, it doesnt seem like a board for smaller cases
