So, I just built my first PC and i'm not sure where to connect the 1 terabyte hard drive, my only memory part. I connected the a wire to the back of it (the plug was straight except for one notch) and connected the other end to the power source. There are multiple other plugs on the wire and I want to know where to connect the HDD if I didn't to it properly.
-Thank you

You need to connect the HDD to the appropriate SATAIII ports. They'll be the black ports with little black plastic 'L's in them, and the cables are usually broad. You probably got some with your motherboard. Make sure the SATA power from your PSU is connected, also.

So I disconnect it from the power brick? Does the port have to be sate 3, can it be 1 or 2?

On the wire, one end fits into the psu, marked sata 2, and the other fits into the back of the HDD. It is L shapes. There are other pligs on the wire, but they are too long to fit into the motherboard sata ports (there is a sata 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 port)
