I am looking to build a new computer and just want to know what parts to buy. I stream on twitch. Which I assume means that I would need more RAM, not sure thought. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a monitor, mouse, and keyboard already.

My big questions are i5 or i7, 16gb or 32, and mostly what parts are compatible.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

That's not necessarily true. I've seen people make that argument but most of their testing methods are questionable at best.

For that budget, I would get something like this:

Even being better for gaming the Intel i7, I would go with Ryzen as they look more suited for the future software including games, that will take advantage of more cores.

Of course those are on the high end. If you want a $1250 build I can adjust accordingly.

This seems like a great build that could run anything I am looking to do, but could you show me something around 1k that could be upgraded to a 1.5k computer later? ( I hope that makes sense)

also, what kind of hit in performance would I take by going with an i5, as it seems i7 is out of the price range of 1k.

Sure, but I will warn you that if you buy with upgrading in mind, you will never be satisfied with anything you have. And it can cost you 2 - 3x as much as if you just buy what you know you want. With that said - if I were going to buy a $1,000 system right now I would get this:

CPU: Intel - Core i5-7500 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($188.59 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-H270-Gaming 3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($108.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($129.88 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($107.88 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($48.88 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: MSI - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB GAMING X Video Card ($259.99 @ Amazon)
Case: Phanteks - ECLIPSE P400S ATX Mid Tower Case ($79.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: SeaSonic - S12G 550W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply ($61.49 @ OutletPC)
Operating System: Microsoft - Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit ($87.89 @ OutletPC)
