CPU might be bottlenecking

I have a i5 4690K CPU and a Zotac - GeForce GTX 980 4GB AMP! Edition Video Card. I recently purchased PLAYERUNKNOWN Battleground but my CPU shoots to 100% usage and my FPS drops to 20 or less. Does anyone know how to boost my FPS or anything else of use? My RAM is G.Skill - Ripjaws X Series 16GB DDR3-1600 Memory. I'm getting irritated that i can't play this game in its ultra graphic level when my friends can play with better FPS on hardware of a lesser than mine...

That sounds like your CPU is indeed unable to keep up with the game or your GPU. Kinda odd, honestly, as the i5-4690K isn't all that old.

Use HWMonitor to view the CPU and GPU usage and temps during game play.

If your CPU or GPU is getting hot or running at a lower MHz, it could cause your issues.

Whooooa. Shut that thing down ASAP and check your CPU heatsink and thermal paste. Intel CPUs should never under any circumstances be running at nearly 100 degrees. Not even AMD FX CPUs ever get that hot, and they run way hotter than Intel CPUs.

This goes beyond "might be." Check that heatsink! The longer you leave your CPU hitting those kinds of temperatures the more likely it'll be damaged.
