Windows 8 , installed virtual NIC cards,
Manual IP, Gateway, DNS Set to 8.8.8.8
"internet access" indication is there, in first look no problems,
but I cant get google homepage,
tried ping 8.8.8.8 and its absolute fine. There is no firewall (Direct broadband connection). Able to browse from other PC's. I have disabled DHCP in Router to limit guests.
I had checked all Virtual NIC's for a manual gateway and found a live NIC configured with manual gateway, changed it to automatic.
Now the network is working fine,

Was the issue with the two gateways ?

or any further actions have to be done ??

8.8.8.8 is not a google web service it is their DNS. You want to ping www.google.com. You are looking to be sure the name resolves to a ip and the ping actually works.

If ping works but web does not it generally a firewall in the pc. Many times microsoft is too smart and sets the firewall based on the IP your machine has. If it thinks you are directly on the internet it puts in a much more restrictive policy. See if you can disable the pc firewall.

Otherwise you suspect the web browser. You test it manually by turning on telnet in windows. Then telnet www.google.com 80 The screen will likely go black, type any garbage and hit enter. You should see some text on your screen. This test basic communications. If you get a...
