Powering my msi gtx 970

Hi I don't really know alot about pcs. So my psu has 1 6pin connector and I think it's called molex? Just got a msi gtx 970 and discovered I can't power due to not having an 8 pin. I've ordered a 6 to 8 pin connector. Would that work ok? I'm not oc the gpu. My psu is a 700w. Thanks

per nvidia recommendation the cards need 500w PSU. your PSU is 700w unit and yet it does not have proper 8 pin power connector? you can use molex though i think your power supply probably not a really good one hence it does not have 8 pin power connector.
