Will a Z170 Motherboard support Kaby lake I7 7700K

Solution
its compatible and you will be able to overclock it but the motherboard may not come with the BIOS version that supports it since this was originally designed for a 6th gen CPU. you're better off getting a Z270 mobo

It wont support kaby lake out of the box, you would need to update the bios with a compatible skylake cpu to support the 7700k then it will work and support overclocking.

Z270 motherboards will support the 7700k out of the box, you would be better off just getting a z270 board.

Why would it be better to getting a Z270 MB?
1. I Noticed on AUS website there has been newer BIOS releases since the one that support the Kabylake.
Can I just uploaded latest BIOS and will it have the fix for Kabylake from past?
2. If I am successful on getting board to recognize the Kabylake CPU and boots up fine.
Will Z170 support 4K UHD to external monitor? Of course I understand I have to have a 4K monitor.
I was planning on installing a Pioneer BDR-S 11 J-BK UHD blueray drive. But there seems to be quite a bunch of requirement's , Kaby lake CPU, HDMI 2.0a and Intel chipset? Does Z170 Pro Gaming stack up to these requirements?

because you have no way of knowing how old the stock of the board you get has been sitting in the retailers warehouse and if the board you get doesn't have the right BIOS the only way to get your kaby lake CPU working with it would be to buy a skylake CPU just to install the BIOS update
