i3 2100 not showing the 4th virtual core

this is like a weird problem i having with my i3 2100 that like other i3 it has 2 physical cores and 2 virtual cores
i saw the 2 virtuales cores (cpu 3 and cpu 4)in a lot of test videos apart from the 2 physicals
(this photo is from another computer)

in my computer only says cpu 1 cpu 2 and cpu 3 , cpu 4 is missing
it is a bug or something ? or the cpu is Defective? i buy it used btw

On the screenshot I can see cpu 1,2,3 and 4. You havent choosed the option to see overall cpu utilization.

Is that your screenshot, or an example you found somewhere? Are all 4 of your cores enabled in the BIOS?

I don't have an Intel processor, I use AMD, but in my BIOS there is a page where you can see all of the cores, and they can be enabled or disabled one by one. If you go into Task Manager, and then Resource Monitor and click on the CPU, how many "cpus" do you see?

I assume by your response that you are seeing the 3 cpus in Resource Monitor. Did you dig around in the BIOS to look for the page where you can see the cores (or it may be called cpus) all listed?

Does it show 1-2-3 or perhaps 0-1-2-3? Intel almost always has core 0 as the first one.

This may be a dumb question, but in your BIOS, does the option to to turn on Hyperthreading exist for each of the physical cores, or is it just a blanket on/off choice? Probably the latter, in which case I would also suspect your cpu is defective. Has it ever shown 4 cores?

you only have two cores. The other two are extra logical cores.

You could see if there is a bios update for your motherboard? could be a bug. And reset bios to factory defaults.
