Hi I'm building a new PC and am stuck between ryzen 5 1600 and i5 7600 non k. I can get both for the same price so it really comes down to performance. I'm mostly a casual gamer and web user, and am looking for something I won't have to replace any time soon.

Thanks in advance !

Lol mate , I originally read your post as 7600k.

Yes I see now that the 7600 & a decent board would come in the same price .

However I would hand on heart say that I sew absolutely no reasoning behind anyone going for any locked i5 now that ryzen is available.

The 7600 is going to win by 10fps or so in the majority of games but its a superficial win when ryzen can deliver 80fps (& majorly 100-110fps upwards in just about any title.
I could just about see reasoning on a 7600k for someone who is mad on overclocking & wants to push a 144htz screen on a select few titles (then again that's close to a 7700 pricepoint)

For me personally the ryzen 1600 is the best price to performance CPU currently on the market by a relatively huge margin.
