Dangerously high stock temps (i7 7700k + h80i)

Hello everyone,

I recently built a new computer, although my computer shuts down while playing video games like PUBG or running the 3Dmark benchmark test. At first I thought it was my PSU but after taking a closer look at my i7 7700k, the cpu temps reached 80 degrees during the 3Dmark benchmark test and averaged around 80-90, with a max of 100 while playing PUBG at medium settings. I've reapplied thermal past twice and remounted my fans on my h80i to make sure the air flow was one directional. But temps are still high and I feel very uncomfortable using my PC. Also, the CPU vcore is at 1.3 with a 42 multiplier(4.2ghz).

Components:
Case: Corsair 250d
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H270N
RAM:Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
CPU: i7-7700k
Cooler: Corsair h80i
GPU: EVGA 1080ti
PSU: EVGA - G3 650W 80+ Gold Fully-Modular

Temps:
Idle: mix of 30-40 and 40-50C

I have considered to delid my cpu and see if that helps my temps because I know they should not be this high. I've read about the recent news that the i7 7700k is reaching 100 degrees and Intel is shrugging it off. But I'm not sure if deliding is really the answer. The case has plenty of airflow with two magnetic fans on the side panel doing push pull to keep the hot air from the GPU from sitting in the corner of my case. Any advice or recommendation is greatly helpful.

Regards,
Luis

First thing I would do before something as involved as deliding I would look at the CPU cooler. First reapply the thermal past and make sure the contact is secure. Second make sure your pump is plugged in the CPU fan header and make sure to set it to Max in the bios you don't want your pump speed fluctuating. Third if your temps are still high you have to consider the possibility that there is air in the radiator and I would rma it or replace it. Also are you using it in a push pull combo?

Also I would look at getting a big cooler 240mm if you can the 120mm really are not meant for OCing more for small cases that can't fit air coolers or have poor air flow. They can oc but you're going to have higher temps.

Hi Kunra,
I did not notice my pump cable wasn't plugged in... and even though my temperatures average around 70-80 degrees during game play, I no longer experience my computer shutting down!

Thank you very much.
