Well at the moment on my laptop i only have a 1 tb hdd and haven't used half of it so i don't think i will be going over 1 tb in the near future, but if so i can always just get another one.

People are saying i should change the i7 7700k to just a i7 7700 because i don't plan on overclocking and to not get a liquid cooler. They are also saying i should get a cheaper motherboard but with the cheaper motherboards i have looked at they don't say anything about vr so i think if they actually mention vr it's better. I am also contemplating to changing to a 1080 ti but it all depends. As well will corsair vengeance lpx 16gb ram rather than the above one make much difference?

There's a little more than difference between them than just overclocking. the 7700k has a base frequency of 4.2 and the 7700 is 3.6. And imho that extra few bucks is worth the jump.
You could save a good chunk by going with an air cooler like the Cryorig H7 which is only bit over 1/3 of the cost of that liquid cooler.
The only difference you will see between the Gskill and the Corsair is in you walled(the Corsair currently costs more), performance wise they will be the same if spec'd the same.
I modified your build a bit. Used a different motherboard and cheaper cpu cooler and used some of the savings for a faster NVME M.2 SSD.

Now if you are wanting to try and fit a GTX 1080ti into the original budget I could give it a shot. BTW what resolution are you planning on playing? Will you be using the system for other taxing tasks besides gaming?

Yeah i had been looking at the cryorig h7 cooler for the cpu, so i think i will definetly stick with the i7 7700k as you said it is a bit more but it is a better cpu. For the motherboard you put i will search in detail about it before ordering just so i know what i'm getting and so i'm familiar with it. The ram as you said i will be sticking with the G.skill Ripjaws as the corsair is just more money for a bit more. The storage looks good as you said it being faster will help with start up and main games and programs i use often will go on it. With the video card if i do get some extra funds i will change to the 1080ti but for now ill stick with the 1080, with the case i think i will get an extra fan or two as it comes with one on the back and one on top. The power supply should support the system yes? Operating system windows 10 its quite a bit of money but it is something i need and i have windows 10 on my laptop so im used to it. And then the wireless network adapter just makes things easier rather than running an ethernet cable through rooms. I will need to get a monitor in the near future but im going to get the pc build up and running on an older crappy monitor until its ready to go then i will get a much better monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers.

And on resolution that is the thing i know the least about, i don't think i will be running 4k but i want good quality picture for all games and what not. Gaming will probably be the most taxing task i will be using the computer for but i would like to be able to use it for various things if the time arises that i need to.

I have been looking at monitors

Asus – VG248QE 24.0” 1920x1080 144Hz Monitor

Acer – XF270HU 27.0” 2560x1440 144Hz Monitor

ROG Swift 2k monitor

But each one increases alot in price

And on the topic of the graphics card i understand that the 1080 has various brands that do the same, asus, gigabyte and stuff but which in your opinion is the best for cooling as that is what i am worried about most, i want to keep the case and all components cool.

I have the VG248QE and it's been a good monitor but IMHO the proposed build above is overkill and all that power is wasted on 1080p. I currently use it as a second monitor and use a 29" Lg IPS ultrawide as my primary and it just look much better than the old TN panel.
I'd go 2560x1440 or even an ultrawide 2560x1080 or 3440x1440 and I wouldn't get a TN if you like vivid colors.

Gsync is a nice feature but comes at a cost.

Okay i will check all of those out, thanks for all the help, i just want to make sure that the build does support VR yes because i was unfortunate enough to have a laptop with a graphics card of 940 and i only needed 960 to run it. Are all the components compatible, vr ready, and i will like i said be getting extra fans the same which come with the case to keep cool. Thanks for all the help again and be warned i will probably be back asking many questions once i've started ordering everything.

For air cooling I'd say the triple fan cards Zotac Amp Extreme, Gigabyte Aorus, Xtreme and G1 and the Asus Strix cards. Inno3d and Galax have some nice one aswell but are hard to get in the states.

Yes it will definitely support VR.
