Cpu Upgrade am3+

Solution
Arma 3 is a tough game to get good performance on. Last I messed with it, it's more about the CPU than videocard. CSGO is not as demanding, but will perform better as your CPU performance increases. So, in short, in these games you are doing about as well as you can with an FX system.

If you jump to a new system, make sure it represents a large increase in CPU performance otherwise it won't help you. Jumping to a budget Intel system, for example, probably isn't worth it.

The best one overall is the FX-8370E, which offers marginally better performance than the FX-8350. The FX-9xxx CPUs might offer just a tad bit more, but they have extreme heat and power consumption. In all honesty, AM3+ is out outdated so it is not feasible to upgrade to AM3+ CPU (unless it's an old system with the other components relatively old as well) as there is no more room for further upgrade, hence the system wouldn't be futureproof. Also, can you list the complete system specifications as well?

Cpu: AMD FX - 8150
Cpu Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H55 Liquid cooling
Gpu: Geforce Gtx 1060 6gb
Ssd: Sandisk S128G 126GB
Hdd: WD Blue 1TB (2012)
Ram: 12GB
MBD: Asus M5A99X EVO
Psu: VS550
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit

I'm just on a budget of 350 pounds,
I just want the best performance for my money
preferably not upgrading the motherboard but if i where to what would be the best to get?
I don't mind if its AMD or Intel
or if its a fancy motherboard.
also, i don't want to buy anymore ram sticks
to save money because they're expensive.
I could sell my CPU and motherboard to have some extra money but please try to make it simple
I hope i'm not asking for much.

you wont gain much to a cpu upgrade the max you will it is 4 gig so i would suggest to keep it this way for now an when budget permit get a am4 1500x or higher with new board like a b 350 and ram that will be a better upgrade and let see what others will suggest .

You'll get maybe £130 tops for your board , CPU & ram mate.

Gives you a fair bit of budget to play with.

It looks like you could stick an FX 8350 or 8370 in there. That'll take you from 3.6ghz to 4.0ghz. Like others have said, there's no point to that. You already have an FX 8xxx series CPU, so you're already getting the most out of your system from a CPU standpoint. You still haven't said what it is you're trying to accomplish. Until you specify what you need an upgrade for, it's hard to suggest anything useful.

edit: For example, if I say "I want better performance" that's kind of vague. What's 'better'? Performance in what?

Sorry, i didn't make it clear
I was just looking for a fps boost in arma 3 and cs-go
for example, in kavala, the main city, i get around 30
witch is not even bad but when i get in a car it gets much laggyer
until i get out of the city.
