Can a 3570k and a ASUS P8Z77-V LX support 2400 MHZ DDR3 RAM

Easily. I have a 3570k on a p8z77-v LE that'll run my 1600 at 2400 OC without an issue. The board itself uses the z77 chipset so can handle anything from 1333 to 2400 (oc) but likely requires a small amount of adjustment in bios if xmp doesn't work out of the box.

Thanks for the reply man, I just tried to OC my 666 MHZ RAM to it's specified 1333MHZ but I couldn't find the setting in the bios anywhere. I ended up selecing the MHZ from a menu to set it 1333MHZ but that still didn't work. You know where to OC the RAM in the bios? Thanks in advance.

Heh. There's a little confusion there. Cpu-Z reads the single data rate, basically the speeds of the IC's before they combine. What you have is DDR3, dual data rate version 3. So when Cpu-Z (and the jadec tables) say 667MHz, that's really only ½ of what you have. 667MHz x2 = 1333MHz.

Very first page (main) in bios, about ½way down, right above system language button, should be the memory info. My wife's pc reads as 8192 MB (8Gb DDR3)

Page 1 (AiTweaker) Target DRAM Speed 1866MHz
Ai Overclock tuner (button) XMP
Scroll down the page
Cpu buss speed : DRAM speed ratio mode (button) Auto
Memory Frequency (button) DDR3-1866MHz

Yours will be pretty much the same, except you'll need 1333MHz vrs my 1866MHz (you might get 1600MHz with OC).

If you don't have XMP setting under the Ai Overclock Tuner, I'd set it to manual vrs Auto and try for a manual setting of 1600, you might need to be stuck at 1333.

Don't forget to hit F10 to save the bios settings on exit.
