Hey Guys,

So recently I've been having problems a few video games due to small lag spikes evey 1 to 2 minutes or so and it lasts about 30 seconds roughly. A week ago I didn't have this problem and all games were running smoothly.

The games I've been playing are Rocket League, Heroes of the Storm, and Overwatch. I noticed when I am playing these games my ping will jump about 20-50 ping (Ex. 96 ping will go up to 120-125). Rocket League gives me the connection problem symbol on the right side of my screen when the spikes happen.

I'm using the Asus AC55 : https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833320216
Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5
Network: 5ghz Speed: 400mbs
Router: Cisco DPC3848V

Please Help

(I also posted this problem in the networking forum)

It may not directly be your ISP's fault. The hops are selected automatically, and if one of them isn't working correctly that isn't something the ISP can correct unless it's in their own equipment.

Each hop is a different device somewhere along the path between you and the game server. Some are ISP equipment, like your modem and perhaps other people's modems from the same ISP. Others could be anything from your neighbor's basement file server to an Amazon datacenter.

I think it has something to do with my Wifi adapter. The AC55. A lot of reviews says that it's pretty bad at losing connection and creating lag. Might have to buy a new adapter.
