I can' use my laptop right now because issues.

1) First, it keeps spamming (holding) the Q button on its own. Now my Q button has already stopped working since last month after spilling a bit of liquid with soap on it, along with some other keys. Is it because of that?

2) The touch pad also stops working randomly, and I will often hear "beeps" randomly.

Please help me. This is my only laptop, and I use it to draw for school.

There will still be water inside of the keyboard as there are nooks and crannies the water would have entered. I know regular keyboards have a plastic film that the keys press to send the signal to the machine. This film is usually 2 or 3 layers thick and it's a nuisance because liquids tend to go between the sheets where you can't drain/dry. I would recommend (if you are competent) stripping the keyboard down and drying it manually or replacing the keyboard, either way you'll have to disassemble it.

Yes spilling any type of liquid on your keyboard will cause it to malfunction. Sometimes it can be fix by uninstalling it or by letting it dry, if that doesn't help the keyboard has been damage by the liquid and needs to be replaced.

Because the moisture got inside where the keys are making contact it could take days. You can carefully pop the keys off the keyboard to check for residual water. Most laptop keyboard will have a thin plastic sheeting that is visible after popping the keys off. If you see condensation under or on the sheeting then you will need to dry it out more.

When I have done this in the past, I will turn the laptop upside down and let it sit unused for several days to let things dry out before turning it back on. Patience is key. Letting it sit for only a couple of hours is not sufficient.

@YoAndy, I let it dry for 3 days. I already accepted that some keys aren't functioning anymore. But if it's randonly pressing letters thus ruining my work, I can't accept that.

@YoAndy, alright. I'll do what I can tomorrow. I'll just update this thread or whatever. Thanks. Are there any other active people here on this website?

Another thing. Why is my touchpad unrespinsive sometimes though?

Before you go inside the laptop try enabling the touchpad by pressing Fn + F9 keys. Maybe it was disabled somehow.
I think you’ll have to remove the laptop top cover and take a closer look at the motherboard. Even though you cannot see any liquid damage under the keyboard, it still could be on the motherboard.

Remove the top cover and check out the motherboard. If it looks clean and there is no liquid damage, probably you’ll have to replace the touchpad. Yes, it’s possible but you’ll have to remove the top cover first.
If the touchpad is damaged you cannot repair it. You’ll have to replace the touchpad. Or Maybe there is nothing wrong with the touchpad itself and you have a problem with the button board? Due to the liquid damage?

due to the sensitivity of the touchpad device, any form of liquid between the pad and the pad board would render the contacts shorted. I found this out after wiping with spray and wipe suface cleaner. I also believe grounding of the pad may also be an issue. Look out for any technical bulletins relating to your laptop’s touchpad.

@YoAndy, I hope you're still here. I pried off my keyboard and wiped anything plastic on it. So far, the q stoppes bugging me and the mouse doesnt get retarded anymore. I'll still update this thread though, if I ever encounter it again. Thanks for your help!

Well try your best not to spill any liquid on it again since you could damage the keyboard and your motherboard. But if it happens repeat the hole process again and make sure there is no moisture inside the keyboard or the motherboard.

@YoAndy, when I pop off my Q key, the Rubber part is loose. Also, the spamming stopped. But anybow, I'll just keep repeating the process if it happens again.
