It's DDR4 this is listed on the ASUS Website itself. This is the same for every Z170 Motherboard as far as i know. I've never personally seen a DDR3 Z170 Motherboard. Hope this helps

They make them, but I don't suggest it as Intel claims they don't support it.
It would help, if you posted amazon link also. There are multiple motherboards with similar model names.
Asus Z170-P - uses DDR4, so you have to buy DDR4 for it;
Asus Z170-P D3 - uses DDR3L (low voltage version of DDR3), so you have to buy DDR3L for it.
