Upgrade for a 7870 LE (Tahiti) - RX 580 or wait for Vega?

Hey guys!

I've been meaning the upgrade the second gaming rig we've got at home, since it has a really ancient GPU.

It will be used for 1080p gaming on one monitor and some light browsing/video watching on another.

Currently rocking a 4460 cpu and a quality seasonic 550 watt PSU.

Will the 4460 be enough not to bottleneck a RX 580?

One thing that kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth are the current prices out here - the RX 580 costs about 350 euro which is what I paid for my R9 390 a year and some months ago and the performance is about the same, so I'm wondering if I should wait for AMD to release VEGA and either grab one of those or a discounted 1070?

Or maybe I should go directly for a 1070? Which is a bit of a bust since we'll lose out on using FreeSync on that PC.

Sorry I've started rambling!

My current possible paths:

Buy a RX 580 which are overpriced in my country and run with it
Buy a GTX 1070 and lose out on FreeSync but retain hope that the card will be relevant for longer

Wait out on VEGA announcement and see where that places the prices (if they even change in the segment I'm looking at)?

The RX 480/580 cards won't be effected much by the release of vega. Most likely, it will take a month if not longer to see any significant price drop in either. Honestly, I like the 580, only because it is $100 USD less than the 1070, but in benchmarks (which never show everything mind you) it is only a few percent behind the 1070. If the price of the 1070 is over $100 in deference, go with the RX 580/480, you will receive very good 1080p gaming and can even gain the small benefits of freesync. Hope this helps
