Hey

I'm having a few issues with some games especially with GTA V
When i play it, the game runs at 40-65FPS average in Mid to High settings.
I can't unterstand it beacause i have a very good build.
The game is running on a spare ssd (samsung evo 240gb)

Specs: CPU: i7 7700k OC to 4.6 GHZ
GPU: Gigabyte G1 GTX 960 4GB
Ram: 16GB HyperX Fury 2133mhz (Dual chanell)
Psu:850W corsair RMI
MOBO: Asus z170-A (works fine)

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro

-----
I've allready tried reinstalling the game and os, aswell all the drivers from the PC.
Could it be, that some of my parts are broken? Or is there something else?
-----
if you notice any gramatical fails or else, it probably is beacause of the lack of english i can speak/write :/
-----
Have a nice day

Could be many factors. Faster RAM speeds or leaner OS settings. Shutting down services that could take performance. Some games see no performance from overclocking but faster RAM can make for a 10fps gain. I suggest using ccleaner to clean up your registry. Then use advanced systemcare scan and boost fix system issues and shutdown unused services. Get both from the link in the popular downloads list.

That seems normal by this benchmark. The video card is slower than the 1050ti. I suggest upgrading to volta when Nvidia gets around to 2000 series.

I've wrote this post beacause, a friend of mine also has a gtx 960 but only with 2gb... for some reasons he gets a lot more fps than me even though he didnt overclock any of his components... could it be that my gpu is broken?

Is he also using Windows 8.1?

Have you let geforce experience optimise the game for you?

What is your cpu and gpu usage like while gaming?

You mentioned you have overclocked the cpu, are the temperatures ok? The 7700k is known to have overheating issues

It's hard to say anything for sure based on the information you've given us. You've given us a vague fps at a med/high setting that doesn't sound all that different from what one would expect from a 960. And told us that a friend has a 960 on some other PC getting a "lot more fps" at some setting.

At this point, I'd benchmark your PC on 3DMark or userbenchmark and compare it to similar builds, which will be stored online. We need *some* solid information to give you any real advice. It's quite difficult to give you a solution without the information that demonstrates what the problem is; you are the only one here sitting at your PC and using your PC and we only know what you can tell us.

So my friend has also win 8.1 he has the same build as my (cpu, ram and gpu). He plays gta in high to very high settings at 60-80fps. My cpu aswell my gpu arent at max load when i play gta. Temparature on the 7700k are very cool while gaming beacause i have a liquid cooler.

I will also do a 3d mark test today so you'll have some information about the build.
