Judging by today' standard wich should I buy used.
I know that there are better options out there but im stuck in AM3 platform.

So the question would be, with is better for the value. Do games or CAD software actually uses six cores or a higher clocked x4 will perfomr better?

Both processors cost exactly the same at the moment

Another question: How easy is to get 3.8ghz in both processors? do I need a bigger cooler or my Arctic a11 will do the job?

Mother m4a785td-m EVO
8 gb DDR3 1333
PSU Thermaltake 500wtts
THANKS

Are the six cores unnecessary?
Yes and no.
Most programs and games don't use more than 4 cores at a time and unfortunately a program must be written with X number of cores in mind. Many games and programs simply won't make use of 6 cores. Some will, and those may run faster on that CPU but your higher clock frequency can help the 4 core cpu perform faster for most games/programs.
I don't see a 1050t I see a 1055t.
That's a tough choice but since the 955 is unlocked and you can take the frequency even higher I'd go with that one.

I don't believe the 1055t is unlocked so overclocking is a bit more complicated.
(You'd have a overclock the Bus and is not an option on all motherboards.)

The 955 can be taken to 3.8GHz fairly easily.
The whole time I had my 955 I was running it at 3.6GHz and 0 issues.
Funny thing was I was only using the stock cooler. (Which was actually a larger style heat pipe, heat sync and fan.)
I think your cooler should work fine. If temps are high then just upgrade to a cooler that uses a 120mm fan.
