4 GB Ram out of 8 locked ?

So im using CAM to monitor my fps and temps in game and i see the ram usage is like 2.1 gb used and 1.9 free.
But i have a single 8 gb stick.
Why is that ?

do you have the 32 or 64-bit version of windows?

Maybe it shows Vram rather then ram?

Task manager says 8gb but games are locked to using 4 gb.

if that the case its because the games are 32-bit. even if you have a 64-bit OS any program that's not 64-bit will not be able to take advantage of more then 4GB of ram

Leave Task Manger open on Ram usage tab and run game. Check your total usage shown during play.
