planning to build a video editing machine. I plan to go with 16Gb of ram for now. then I plan to upgrade to 32gb and then to 64 later on. money is an issue at the moment.

what is the best configuration of ram to use as I upgrade. is it best to use 4x16gb or 2x32? 4x16 will be cheaper to upgrade as i can buy a stick as i get the money. Also do the sticks all have to be the exact same to be the most efficient?

thinking about this one

Generally, i'd go with 2x8Gb for 16GB Of ram, paying the extra 20+ Dollars isn't worth it, and using 4 Sticks totalling up to 16GB Would look nice for aesthetics if they were all the same, but would lower performance a bit.

Hopefully this solves your problem,
