The EVGA GTX970 SSC 2.0 acx is new and RMA from company because the first one had a memory issue and he's selling the new one.
The r9 390 is a year old apparently in perfect condition. The seller is letting me test it first running.

I can't decide which one to buy, I heard they are pretty similar.

Both of them will cost £140.

That's a tough one, i think i would recommend the GTX 970 at 1080p 144 Hz. As you would see from the charts i posted at lower resolutions it gets a good lead, where as the R9 390 tends to only win at 1440p/4K. And since the card is brand new and a great model (EVGA SSC) i would recommend you go with that card.

Which resolution do you run? At 1080p i would lean the GTX 970 since they match each other just about at 1080p and it's more efficient. But at 1440p (or higher) the R9 390 tends to edge out the 970 by a decent amount so it would be a good buy. Can't go wrong with either but the fact the GTX 970 is new would be a nice benefit as well. Hope this helps :)
