Hi my mobo is asus h61 mk with a bios 801 which is from 2014. I installed a used 2600k to replace my old i3 and I got no post. I reset the cmos still didn't work.I checked my bios and its fine since its from 2014 and cpu is from 2011. I put my i3 back and everything run normally. Im really dissapointed rn. Btw also to reset the cmos I had to remove my gpu each time to take the battery off. Any idea why it's not posting?

Just because a CPU has the same socket doesn't mean it will work, that's why manufacturers post CPU compatibility list. The link I posted above has pictures, let us know if it's different.

If it is the same then I would recommend trying to find a used 3770 or 3770K as your motherboard is compatible.

Sorry for the -1 im on phone. But my mobo is lga 1155 so it should support all lga 1155. I never knew mobos supported specific cpus I always thought if the socket is correct then it will be compatible. Btw I still have my older mobo which O do not know its name. How can I post a pic here so you can tell which mobo it is?
