I just bought all the parts for my new pc build. I have a gtx 1070 and an i5 7600k. So yesterday I got the power supply. I got the evga 600w BQ and I was very excited. But when I went online I saw a few people saying it s a piece of garbage. Is that true? What do you guys think of it?

^ what he said - the bq650 would have been 'acceptable' as its at least a half decent quality HEC unit.

Evga dropped the ball here - I have no idea what they're playing at with this new range in all honesty.

You can buy FAR better psu's in that price bracket, especially when you're running $600 worth of CPU & gpu.

Do you think this power supply would be ok for my mate or if it is wrong if I sell it to him?
Ok I will look at those.

There have been no reviews or stripdowns of the Andyson units.

I think andyson have probably made 2 actual decent psu's in the last 10 years.

For a cheap lower power basic system probably fine , just not for a system with expensive components in - which yours definitely is.

I don t know yet I wrote an email to the computer shop I got it from and it s sunday here so I will getbthe answer tomorrow. In the worst case scenario I can sell it to a guy from my school and he would pay me the retail price.

Well I'm reserving judgement now a little bit.
It looks like Andyyson may have thrown out a half decent dc-dc regulated platform here (certainly not based on anything they've produced before)

Overheat protection , unlikely to be an issue with a 600w unit with your components & make no mistake it is a true 600w unit if its DC-DC.

Why not use a Nippon or rubycon on the 12v filter though ?? Its like $1 in production costs.
That said teapo's are a lot lot better than they used to be.
The fan is the the same as the b1's , never had an issue with fan noise personally when I've used these in budget desktops.

If I could return it easily I still would most likely , if not I admittedly would be half-tempted to give it a go.
Would like to see a few more reviews though.

EVGA is generally very good with customer service. Have a go at returning it, if it's too expensive keep it. In the mean time you can use it fine, just try not put your PC under very high loads with high overclocking.

Its one of those isn't it??
Spec, component quality, ripple etc , it honestly looks in line with the new corsair cxm & they're good units.

Of course that's assuming the 600w unit has at least the same component quality as the 500.

It should though definitely , on a dc-dc unit youve only got to uprate the primary to run more wattage.
That nichicon primary could no doubt manage 800w or so without a hint of stress.

Its kind of hard to make a bad dc-dc unit IMO , you're essentially buying a 230-240v to 12v transformer with some 12v to 5.5/3.3v filters.

That said if anyone can mess it up its Andyson :-/

I will wait till monday for an answer from the computer shop. If that doesn t go I will just sell ot and make a contract for the guy I will sell it to that I do not take any responsability if anything happens to his pc.

Although, I'd have to say behind the CXM on terms of quality. That said it isnt far behind.

Ok I got an email from the shop and I can return it no problem. But what power supply should I get in the 100$ price range and you must keep in mind that everything is at least 20-40$ more expensive here in Europe. I will also be doing some overclocking.
