so i bought some new ram , corsair vengeance ddr3 , and i tried installing both of the 2 8 gb sticks, but my pc would keep on re starting continually not even getting past the bios screen, i tried a bunch of different stuff like re setting the battery on the mobo but it still wouldn't work, then i tried installing 1 stick and it worked, but when i tried to put the second it didnt work, so i ended up putting 1 of my new sticks with an old one but id obviously rather have both new ones, does anyone know how to fix this? please help

Did you try both sticks one at a time in the same slot? Did you make sure your computer can run on the RAM properly? There should be an official RAM compatibility list from the motherboard vendor you can check. There are often way more RAM sticks that can work with the system, but if it's not on the official list, you are not likely to get support for the issue.
