I use intel DH61WW Motherboard with An intel core i5 2400 Processor. i wish to upgrade my RAM but my requirement is 1333mhz RAM but i wish to get Corsair CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9 DDR3 4 GB RAM as i need DDR3 RAM thats where Im good with it but it is 1600mhz. SO my question is can i use this RAM in my CPU? Does It matter if i need 1333mhz and this is 1600mhz? Can i still use it?

Solution
Yes. That Corsair memory module should be compatible.

However, this module will be downclocked from 1600 MHz to 1333 MHz automatically by the system to match the systems native (non-overclocked) frequency of 1333 MHz.

And there is no difference in performance though?

Is the reduction of 7% noticeable? I use my pc for gaming.

Maybe. It is dependent on the game, and how it uses the memory. For memory intensive games, there might be a noticeable reduction in performance compared to games that are not memory intensive. Non-intensive games may not show any (obvious) sign of performance reduction.

So I should not go for it? I will play most of the popular titles. Gta V battlefield, the division, and many more.
And if there's any other corsair RAM you could recommend DDR3 1333 mhz 4gb.

Performance (drop) can't really be predicted, as it is unknown how specific games use memory. I can't predict which games will show any obvious signs of performance decrease, as I haven't got the exact same system setup nor any of these games to test performance.

Remember that any memory rated higher than 1333 MHz will be downclocked automatically to 1333 MHz to match system. So the 1600 MHz memory will be run at 1333 MHz anyway. The only way to run this memory at 1600 MHz is to overclock it (and the CPU also if necessary).

Can't really recommend any specific Corsair DDR3 1333 MHz 4 GB memory as there are quite a few to choose from. Most of these modules should be compatible. If there is any doubt, let us know and we'll check compatibility.

If the 1600 MHz memory happens to be cheaper than the 1333 MHz memory, then get the 1600 MHz memory. Otherwise get a 1333 MHz module instead.
