Hi all,
I just bought an Asus b150i itx aura motherboard, i just want to test it before i buy a new cpu for it.

Can i just turn it on without a cpu? If i should have a cpu can i put my 3970x on it and try it?

And at last will using the same psu that is in my main pc do any harm?

Solution
You can turn on motherboard without CPU, but that's not going to tell you if it works.
You can't put 3970 in that motherboard.
You can use your PSU from main pc, provided you don't try to power them both at the same time with single PSU. You need to disconnect all PSU cables from main PC for the test with new motherboard.
