Hi all,
I recently fried my old board with an ESD so I decided to upgrade. With a clean install of windows 10, my PC now tends to just crash desktop after some gameplay in a couple of games. I have had no problem playing Blizzard titles for a good chunk of time, while stuff like DOOM crashes in the menus or Hitman which does as soon as the gameplay starts. I'm just unsure if I should go buy a windows 10 key, format the drives completely or is some other component the issue here

Any help would be appreciated.

System spec

  • Windows 10 64 bit
    AMD Ryzen 5 1500x
    MSI 970
    8 GB DDR4 Ram
    250 GB Samsung SSD
    1TB External Drive
    750W PSU

I had upgraded years ago from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 with that free offer to do so. I also tried using the DDU yesterday to remove the drivers, still ran into problems. Could my graphics card also be faulty now? Or is it the new board I bought?

Is the gpu new? If not test it in another system and see if it works fine. Also check your event viewer and see what errors come up at the time your games crash, I've recently bought a ryzen build and I'm suffering from constant nvlddmkm.sys crashes in all games and sometimes just when watching video and I've been through 2 gigabyte ab350 boards and then I bought an asus x370 prime and I'm still having the same issues, I've even tried an old 560ti and that produces the same crashes, I think some systems just seem to be suffering from NVidia driver issues with the new ryzen architecture
