Hey guys, I have a custom built pc. It's worked fine for the past few years, but the case shorts out and blue screens my computer whenever I use the USB ports on the front. Don't know if I should just ignore that and upgrade my current build or just start from scratch. My current build is as follows.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

Intel Core i7 4770K @ 3.50GHz
Haswell 22nm Technology

8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz

MSI Z87-G43 (MS-7816) (SOCKET 0)

2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 (EVGA)

1863GB TOSHIBA DT01ACA200 ATA Device (SATA)

I think my graphic card for sure needs an upgrade, not sure which one would be the best tho. Thanks guys.

I'd just disconnect the front USB ports from the motherboard, if you want to get rid of the shorts without trying to troubleshoot it. If you need more ports you can always add a USB hub.

That card is more or less 960/1050 Ti level in performance. So you'd want to go with a card with more than 2gb vram and that's faster than that level in spped. An RX 480/580 or GTX 1060 at least.

Give consideration to getting an SSD too. You can use your 2tb hard drive for most things, and put your OS and programs on the SSD. It really improves how responsive the computer is.
