So I have just changed my motherboard on an old pc so my dad can work on it and i have got a new hdd also. But dvd rom is not working on my old pc so can I install windows somehow if i put it in my main pc and just transfer the hdd with installed windows in my old pc? And if yes please give me some tips where to find the tutorial how to do it.
Thanks.

Solution
Get a 4GB thumb driver and use a program called Rufus to make a bootable USB drive.

Installing windows and then trasfering it doesn't always work unless they use similar SATA controllers

The Install process should REALLY be done on the old PC where it will be running. One option for you is to TEMPORARILY move the working optical drive from your new PC to the old one. Install Windows there. When done, move the optical drive back to the new PC.
