Mouse is stuttering after new motherboard and CPU

So recently I upgraded from an AMD FX-6300 and M5A97 r2.0 motherboard to a i5-4460 and MSI B85M-G42 motherboard and now all of a sudden I'm expiriencing these weird mouse stuttering glitches. I can move my mouse normally for a few seconds and then it freezes for a second and unfreezes at a location where it would've been if it wouldn't freeze, if that makes any sense? The scrollbar and mouse clicking is also affected. I've tried everything that I've found on the internet, such as formatting my PC, updating GPU, motherboard and mouse drivers and disabling some Windows 10 features. I'm running out of options and it's really frustrating.

Thanks for any future reply!

Yes I've tried the USB 2.0 ports and 3.0 ports and it's all the same, the ones on the front will fail to install the mouse for some reason I'll test it further in the morning.

but your keyboard is connected to usb ? and that is ok ? perhaps the problem is with the mouse ?

Yes my keyboard is connected to USB and is working perfectly. I doubt that it's the mouse since it was working perfeftly before the switch 10 hours ago and is working just fine on my laptop

the laptop that it works on is running windows 10 and your previous pc motherboard and cpu system was using windows 10 ? trying to see if this a driver issue or not . the drivers on the manufacturers website are quite old (2011) by the looks of it . but i have translated the page so could be wrong

Yes the laptop and my old build were using windows 10, but the laptop is quite old as well yet it works there. I'm not sure about the outdated drivers I'll check in the morning. But in case that they are outdated and there are no more updates for it what can I do?

i would expect windows to be using generic drivers for a usb mouse that is relatively old and the manufacturers of your mouse don't feel the need to update the drivers because well it's a mouse ! it should just work! . . is there any chance you can borrow a mouse from a friend or somebody so we can see if this issue is specific to this mouse

Yeah I'll try it with a different mouse when I come back home, I'll report back then.

Okay so I tried with a different mouse and there it seems to be working normaly which I don't understand since both mice work on other computers flawlessly yet one of them stutters on this one and the other doesn't. The mouse I'm using is a Canyon CNR-MS1O01O. I'll most likely buy a new mouse.

it is very strange. for the price of a mouse (normal everyday use type) it does seem like the best option is to buy a new one . that sounds like such a defeatist solution. sorry about that . if the issue does reappear with a new mouse then we shall have to rigorously test everything but i feel it's a software issue and it could be the motherboard usb drivers don't like the drivers for your mouse . telling you to buy a new mouse feels very unhelpful to be honest .

I'll be buying a gaming type mouse or atleast one with some macro keys like this one had. I know it sounds like the easy way out but the way I see it it's the only way out, but thanks for your help and I'll be sure to report back if the issue reoccurs on the new mouse!

Indeed he did. But you can format a drive and load a repair disc image (with potentially wrong motherboard drivers, etc) rather than a clean install. It's why I asked.

i guess but he also stated about updating drivers for his motherboard . i get your point though
